I'm very disgusted by the way Singaporean reacted to Sezairi winning Idol. Those mean and racist remarks are just plain shallow. To these people, have you asked yourself how he won the the competition? It's by voting for goodness sake! Don't blame another Malay for winning idol when you don't even vote. And if you said you vote, well, maybe it's not enough for the other contender to win your vote.
It's very ironic that Singapore pride itself as a nation which celebrates 'Racial Harmony' but the people here are discriminating still. Honestly, I feel ashamed since those remarks and reactions were brought up. It's a tradition in a competition that one has to win and the others have to loose. So, suck it up and accept the fact of how things are. Take beauty pageants for examples, look at the majorities of the winners. Did anyone of us yelled and cry about it? I don't think so. But Ris Low was exceptional. Because in the history of Singapore pageant, I think she BOOMZ amongs them. So, I'm just really glad she backed out. Anyway, let's live life with no discriminations. Life's too short to hate. Come on, just have an open mind about it. |
