yesterday function was great.
had a sleepover in school on friday and it wasn't a comfortable experience, well, i don't wanna talk about it. so woke up at 7am yesterday morning and got the things prepare for the function which is to build the tallest yellow glutinous rice in singapore. the cooking time for the glutionous rice was 45 min and each steamer can insert 5 tray at a time so imagine cooking 30 trays from morning till afternoon.. haiz.. tedious!!

so by the time when we got to the expo, i was exhausted. had some photoshoots with the media and i was trying hard to put on an exciting facial expression. so we started building it at 3pm, we were given only 2 hours to do it. it isnt easy as u may think because the glutinous rice was oily and its hard to make it stick onto the styrofoam mould. it was only 15min since we started and i was nearly giving up but i managed to hold on and continue. we find many ways to make it hold, water, toothpick and cling wrap and with all of it combine, we manage to hold it.



so 2 hours has passed and all the decoration was put up and there it was standing 2 metre tall, the tallest yellow glutinous rice in singapore. by that time, i was feeling maximum exhaustion and still, there was photo taking session, so i was trying hard to smile. i didnt managed to took the whole piece, so i just took a snap of the top piece which i did most of the job on it. and thanks to mum and dad for coming to support me. anyway, look in today 27 jan, berita harian for it. i also heard we were featured in the news yesterday but i didnt managed to look at it.

so after the whole event, mum, dad and me take a look at the exhibitions. mum bought some goodies and then we make our way to aloha loyang for my relative birthday. it's been eons since i went there. i wanna have my birthday there, hope mum would agree to it!! haa..

tomorrow the four winners will have an interview session with berita harian. we are to cook 2 dishes each, so look out for it in one of the days (:
